Crystal Cruises wants you to travel between Miami and Los Angeles - so much so that they'll pay for your airfare one-way if you'll join them on this two-week journey which passes through the Panama Canal. (And every time I write that phrase, I automatically think of its famous palindrome - "A man, a plan, a canal - Panama!".)
The base price is US $3595 per person for a basic stateroom, which on Crystal is still quite indulgent but they warn it won't give you much of a sea view - more likely, you'll get an up-close view of a glossy-painted ship part. On this special, they also offer a third-berth free policy for kids 17 and younger.
The February 16th sailing date is a special Crystal Cruises Wine and Food Festival cruise, and these cruises also qualify for Crystal's "Family Memories" program which throws in a free berth for every ten paid bookings and an array of photos and other perks to encourage family groups to travel together.
