If Anna Wintour, sunglass-ista editor of Vogue, has her way, we’ll all be seeing red.
Touting red as the color of the season, Vogue devotes 14 pages of the September issue as a paen to the fiery hue. It seems right on target, as we’ve all been downcast with the s-l-o-w-l-y improving economy and we’re holding purse strings tightly closed. Something has got to jar us from the hebetude.
Neiman Marcus followed the trend, promoting red, saying “there’s no stopping the stylishness of this racy color,” and showcasing it in everything from dresses to handbags.
Mythology has it that red was the “first” color. It’s long been associated with vibrancy, growth, love, luck, life and affinity. Let’s hope it’s a good omen for a fabulous Fall shopping season!
Leopard—it’s been going strong for the last four years. Now it’s taking over again from capes to shoes.
Leggings—skin-tight, under the hottest tops, short dresses. Think slinky with skinny.
Motorcycle Jackets—the tough girl look that’s really popular with the active girls-on-the go.
Metallic Shoes—glitz and glam can’t get any better than a high-stepping shiny shoe.
Accessories with Hardware—gilt it up on shoes, handbags, belts.

Accentuated Shoulders—Donna Karan got this just right. Plus that, it makes every girl look s-k-i-n-n-i-e-r.
Major Black Dresses—they’re everywhere, and NEVER—no matter what they tell you—go out of style.
High-Impact Jewelry—big and bold, not flimsy and filigree.
Cozy Knits—sweaters that make you feel warm and cozy and look like a hottie.
So there you have it. The best trends of Fall….wear them and be a stylista yourself!
