Don's Music in Eagle Rock, home to a varied selection of vinyl gems, a section called "black music," and a supremely odd owner has shut its doors. I knew something was strange when I called the number and got the good old "disconnected" message. This was a bit odd since I called last week to inquire about a record. After some searching, I discovered Don's MySpace page, which had an alternate number. I got Don after two rings. Here's the exclusive conversation.

Q: Don?

A: Yes.

Q: Hey. Do you have any Jackson 5 on vinyl?

A: The store shut down. I'm in Wisconsin now.

Q: Really? Sorry to hear that.

A: Yes we moved across the country.

Whether this means that Don moved across the country or whether the entire store moved across the country remains to be seen. For all you Eagle Rock residents and vinyl enthusiasts, my heart goes out.
