It's that time of year when the film festivals coming swooping into Arizona like a flock of seagulls (although we don't get too many of those in Phoenix). Nevertheless, we have the rare opportunity to watch an abundance of talent on-screen in a very short amount of time.
As part of the Moving Targets Initiative, ASU is yet again assembling its Annual Short Film Festival, which is being held at the ASU Art Museum. The Initiative was instituted to explore new facets of media, which have an artistic emphasis present.
Moving Targets builds on the museum's long history of exploring the role of new media in the arts. It expands into new territory through presentation of new media and new systems for information delivery to the ASU Art Museum's audiences.
The list of short films has not yet been published, but after looking at the previous entries over the past few years, we can expect that the entrants are going to be top-notch. For the list of past entries and more information about the festival, click here.
Admission is free into the festival, but you need to bring your own seating (and popcorn). The viewings start at 8:00pm, so be sure to come early to find a good spot.
