For days now, AU students have been excited and waiting for the Girl Talk concert. Finally, it’s only a day away. Thanks to SUB (the Student Union Board), Girl Talk will be performing in the Tavern at 8:30pm Saturday, April 4th. However, there have been many security concerns about the concert. So, extra precautions are being taken in order to make sure that American University stays safe.

Tickets will not go on sale until 6:00pm tomorrow, Saturday, evening. You can find them at Student Activities in MGC. Though, you better get there early because I hear that the line is starting at 5:00. Also, make sure you bring your AU ID because there is only one ticket for every ID. And, you can’t get a ticket for a friend outside of the school, because Student Activities is taking the name of everyone who purchases a ticket and checking IDs again at the door. You will not get in without you AU ID. The doors to the Tavern are opening at 8:00pm; tickets are $5.

The concert is supposed to last until around 9:45, but don’t worry about your evening ending early. Alpha Phi Omega, Delta Phi Epsilon, and SUB are hosting a Stay Awake-a-thon right afterwards! The required donation of $10 gets you into the Tavern for the rest of the night. So, be prepared for fun games and contests all night long! All donations go to an AU alum, Beth Plewa, and her Peace Corp project in the Dominican Republic. She is trying to build a library in the small village which she is living.
