Saturday night, March 28th, Facilitating Leadership in Youth (FLY) held a Casino Night in the Tavern. It was a huge success! Students from all around campus participated in the semi-formal event, from being dealers to gamblers. It was $10 for a ticket. That ticket got you 10,000 chips. Minimum bets for most games, such as Blackjack, Let It Ride, and Roulette, were 1,000 chips. But it was no problem if you lost everything within the first hour, or even ten minutes, because you could buy 10,000 more chips for only $2.

At the end of the night the person with the most chips won a 10 course dinner for seven people at a four star restaurant. There were also a number of smaller prizes and raffles that were won throughout the night, including a Bath and Body gift certificate. All the proceeds went to help children and schools in Anacostia. This event was co-sponsored with Pike and RHA. Congratulations on putting on such an amazing event. I’m sure the children will thank you.
