It's official! Jake Pavelka will be the next star of The Bachelor, premiering on ABC in January 2010.

The announcement was made on tonight's episode of Dancing with the Stars.

Your new Bachelor, Jake

Jake made his television debut on last season of The Bachelorette. He was one of the many suitors vying for Jillian's heart. He was better known as Jake “the pilot, I’m a pilot, did I mention I’m a pilot? I’m looking for a co-captain for life” Pavelka.

Back in August, Bachelor producer Mike Fleiss, confirmed that the next Bachelor would be Jake, Reid or Kiptyn – three favorites from the last season of The Bachelorette. Since then, the fans of the show have debated who would be the next lucky man handing out the roses. However, a few weeks ago, a Tennessee woman named Brittney, a contestant on the upcoming season of the Bachelor, accidentally spilled the beans to a local TV station that Jake was the one.

Despite his good looks and good heart, he was a tad too tame for some women (me). He cried a little too much, was just a little too gentle and a little too sappy. What will next season hold for us without a drunken Bachelor and that scandalous Fantasy Suite (aka STD Suite)? There is no way Jake will be bedding three women in three nights, right? I mean, he’s not Ed… But he’s definitely a good guy and will undoubtedly be a good catch for some lucky woman.

The next season of The Bachelor debuts in January 2010. This season will be called, and I’m not kidding, “The Bachelor, On the Wings of Love.” Shoot me now.
