This week, the annual Romance Writers of America (RWA) conference is being held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. Several thousand RWA members will converge on the city in search of workshops, networking opportunities, and editors and agents to pitch their stories to. The organization, which supports both published and unpublished authors, has served as a non-profit trade organization since 1981.
The mission of Romance Writers of America, as stated on their Web site, is "to advance the professional interests of career-focused romance writers through networking and advocacy."
Tonight, the organization will host the "Readers for Life" Literacy Autographing, where more than 500 romance authors will participate in this two-hour autographing event, to raise money for ProLiteracy Worldwide.
