So I realize that most of you don't keep up with the Tori Amos world as much as I do, so it is my job to keep you in the know. The word is that Tori's got some interesting things up her sleeve now that she has gone indie. The trouble is, we don't really know anything about them! Here's what we do know:
- American Doll Posse DVD: Tori recorded several shows from the ADP tour that she intended to release as a DVD. According to her, this project has now morphed into something much bigger that she is still working on. As for what that means, well your guess is as good as mine.
- Light Princess Musical: Tori has been working on scoring a musical for the fairy tale "The Light Princess" since the end of the tour. This project is still in the works and who knows when it willbe scheduled to open. Go here to read the story.
- John Phillips Shenale is in on it: Shenele, who has arranged strings for many of Tori's albums, including Under the Pink and American Doll Posse, has said that he has been working with Tori for the Light Princess as well as a new record. He also said on his blog that this would be an exciting summer. Spill it already!!
- Headlining the Dranouter Festival August 1: Tori will be performing at the Fesitval in Belgium. This will be her first show since the end of the ADP tour, and it will be a solo performance.
- Montreaux DVD: See my earlier post for more information on this.
- Comic book Tattoo, July 23: Again, see the earlier post. She will also be appearing and Comic-Con in San Diego this July, if you are into that kind of thing.
So now that summer is heating up, maybe we will start getting some better info regarding this supposed new album and whatever it is the DVD has morphed into. And, hopefully, instead of being her usual cryptic self, she will give us some concrete info during the web chat on Wednesday the 23rd at 4pm PST.
