4th of July music adds extra fun to your 4th of July party or playdate.  Here are some favorite patriotic, Americana kids music and easy theme activities for the kids.  Download your favorites now using these helpful links!

Red, White & Raggs by Raggs Kids Club Band is fun and original.  Try "Freedom Rocks" and add a little rock-can musical accompaniment.  Collect small rocks for kids to paint with red, white and blue tempera paint (water-based paint so don't leave rocks in the rain).  Put painted rocks in an empty coffee can and get rockin'!

I Love America Sing-Along by Peter Pan Kids has everything from On Top of Old Smokey to Yankee Doodle.  Use the "feather" or "macaroni" theme: decorate "feather hats", make feather collages, or string macaroni necklaces.

My Favorite Kidsongs has a perfect version of The Caissons Go Rolling Along for your 4th of July Neighborhood Parade.  Need something red, white & blue to go marching?  Buy white t-shirts (or onesie's for your 4th of July baby) and use red, white & blue fabric paint for handprints or footprints.  In Mommy & Me classes this week, we painted 3-striped hands - red on the palm, white in the middle, and blue on the fingers - then reversed the stripes on the other hand.  Toddlers made Jackson Pollack style red, white & blue painted shirts.

Broadway Kids Sing America has pop songs like California Girls, Country Road, New York New York and the ever classic This Land is Your Land.  Children can wave stars, flags or flashlights as they salute the red wood forests and gulf stream waters (yeah Woody!).  Cut out star patterns from posterboard or cardstock paper and decorate with glitter.  Attach to paint sticks for singing, dancing and marching!

 Happy Birthday America!
