Toys R Us has given parents and gift-buyers the best resource for developmental toy-shopping.  Stop by your local Toys R Us store and you'll find this helpful flyer displayed near the front of the store, Ten Toys That Speak To Autism.  The flyer is part of a larger campaign by Toys R Us that includes The Toys R Us Toy Guide for Differently-Abled Kids -  50+ pages of recommended toys with developmental play benefits of each.

The guide has invaluable information for all children.  Preview the link above and flip to the skill-building toy-finder index on pages 52-55.  Everyone can use this guide to find engaging toys for a variety of developmental experiences guaranteed to enhance your child's play.

Bravo Toys R Us for taking the mystery and fear out of buying fun, quality toys for differently-abled children - children with autism or down syndrome, children who use wheelchairs or children who use hearing aides.  Differently-abled children are in your child's school and extracurricular classes.  Now, you know what to bring to the next birthday party.

You can also read this universal list, Top Ten Tips for Buying Toys, prepared for the Toys R Us by the National Lekotek Center.

Happy shopping!
