Tooty Ta is a favorite silly-song of children all across the country.  Tooty Ta is written by Dr. Jean Feldman, early childhood educator and musician.  It 's fall-down-laughing fun to sing and dance Tooty Ta.  There's no professional version of Tooty Ta on YouTube but you'll find lots of shakey preschool graduation footage and some funny living room performances.

The words are simple as you repeat the Tooty Ta verse while each new verse twists your body into a different shape.  Sing the song standing starting with "thumbs out" and sway side to side till the end of the song when you "turn around".  Keep adding actions: elbows back, feet apart, knees together, bottoms up, tongue out, eyes shut, turn around....a toooty ta, a tooty ta...

Listen for yourself...

Whenever you need a silly song to de-stress, or your child needs to release some extra energy, remember Tooty Ta and start a new family tradition.

For more info:  Tooty Ta is on Dr. Jeans recording, Dr. Jean and Friends.
It's fun but it also teaches sequencing and body awareness and gets the left and right brain in synch.  Read Dr. Jean's newsletter on the "reasons to sing Tooty Ta".
