Trick or Treat for UNICEF gives children a chance to help others while collecting mountains of candy sweets for themselves.  Children want to make a difference in the world.  UNICEF gives children the opportunity to help kids!  Imagine the compassion your child gains when she realizes she can help children who live without water, education or medicine.

UNICEF is now better than ever with many news ways for kids to make a difference:

  • Collect donations using the famous orange Trick-or-Treat boxes
  • Donate on-line
  • Trick-or-treat on Facebook or MySpace
  • Send Halloween e-cards through UNICEF

Years ago, I wrote an article on the big rewards children gain from small acts of philanthropy like Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF.   Here's a short list of what your child learns:

  • They are part of a community - something bigger than themselves.
  • They can contribut to the well-being of others.
  • Everyone has something to give.
  • They can transform an idea into action.
  • They feel a sense of gratitude for what they have.

Kick off this holiday season by making a little space in your heart and in your week to help others.
