Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin has a strong hold on the starter position for the next few years.  (AP Photo/Tony Gutierrez)

Baylor
Bryce Petty (*) – Originally committed to Tennessee, Petty will have a lot of work in front of him to see any playing time.  He was recruited as an athlete but wants to play quarterback.  If he has any fantasy potential it will not be for a couple of years. Rivals.com profile

Colorado
Clark Evans (*) – Dan Hawkins likes quarterbacks that can run and throw and Evans is certainly no exception.  The big QB from California will most likely fall behind Cody Hawkins and Tyler Hansen on the depth chart next year.  Last year was a bad year to be a Colorado quarterback and if poor play continues Evans could get a look. Rivals.com profile

Iowa St
Darius Reynolds (**) – Reynolds is an interesting prospect because he is the kind of athlete that the cyclones do not have on their current roster.  He says that he wants to play quarterback but could end up at another position.  He is a JUCO player and will have two years to play at Iowa St.  There are a quite a few talented young quarterbacks on the team and it will be interesting to see what new coach Paul Rhoads does with the offense and the quarterback position.  Rivals.com profile

Kansas
Jordan Webb (***)  Early Enrollee – Webb put up huge passing numbers in high school and will look to do the same in his Jayhawk career.  He is a pro-style passer and will try to take over for Todd Reesing after his final year at Kansas.  Mangino has proven that he can take raw quarterback talent and mold them into successful Big 12 players.  Mangino is creating quite a nice fantasy attack down in Lawrence and if Webb does take over for Reesing he could turn into a good stat producer. Rivals.com profile

Christian Matthews (**) – It seems as though many Big 12 teams are looking for an athletic Texas quarterback.  That is exactly what Kansas and Mangino got with Matthews.  Has a great chance to become the eventual starting quarterback at Kansas but I just do not see the fantasy potential that a player like Webb might have.  A duel-threat quarterback has to be very special if he is going to become a great fantasy player. Rivals.com profile

Kansas St
Angelo Pease (*) – Pease is more of an athlete than a quarterback but could fit into Snyder’s plan of bringing back running quarterbacks.  He was productive in high school but it will be interesting to see if he stays at quarterback for the Wildcats.  Most likely he will be playing another position, like cornerback. Rivals.com profile

Missouri
Ashton Glaser (**) Early Enrollee – Glaser spent much of his senior year in high school banged up and bruised.  He persevered through injuries and still threw the ball very well.  He ran the spread in high school so there should be a quick transition to Missouri’s wide open attack.  He will have some competition for playing time as former big time recruit Blaine Gabbert looks to have the inside track on the job. Rivals.com profile

Blaine Dalton (***) Early Enrollee – Dalton is a great scrambler and can drive defenses crazy with his running ability.  Missouri fans will likely compare him to quarterback Chase Daniel but I think Dalton is a much better athlete.  He is a proven winner and will battle the other Blaine (Gabbert) for playing time.  Gabbert has already been on campus for a year and has even seen some playing time so Dalton will have some catching up to do.  Rivals.com profile

Nebraska
Cody Green (****) Early Enrollee – Bo Pelini has to be excited to get this kind of athlete at the quarterback position.  Green is big and athletic and looks more like a big time receiver than a signal-caller.  If he can prove that he can pass at the next level the starting position could be his for the taking.  With quarterback Patrick Witt leaving the program Nebraska will be scrambling to find their quarterback deep into spring and fall practice. Rivals.com profile

Quarterback recruit Drew Allen will likely take a red-shirt just like Heisman winner Sam Bradford.  (AP Photo/Chris O'Meara)

Oklahoma
Drew Allen (****) Early Enrollee – Though not highly ranked by most recruiting services Allen has the potential to be a good player for Bob Stoops and Oklahoma.  However he will have to contend with Heisman trophy winner Sam Bradford and highly talented Landry Jones.  Allen may have a similar path to success as Bradford with a red-shirt looking likely.  When his turn comes Allen will most likely find success and put up great statistics. Rivals.com profile

Oklahoma St
Clint Chelf (**) – With Chelf Gundy gets another quarterback who can run and pass.  If a quarterback can make smart decisions and threaten the defense with their ability to run they can be successful at Oklahoma St.  It is unclear when Chelf will get an opportunity as the Cowboys have many options at quarterback including returning starter Zac Robinson. Rivals.com profile

Texas
Garrett Gilbert (****) – He is the heir to do it all quarterback Colt McCoy.  Texas recently moved back-up quarterback John Chiles to receiver making room for Gilbert to become the number two guy.  Gilbert may be ready to start for Texas right now but he will have to wait for McCoy to move on before he gets his chance.  He is accurate and a great decision maker. Gilbert should turn out to be quite a player for the Longhorns. Rivals.com profile

Texas A&M
No significant signings

Texas Tech
Jacob Karam (*****) – Karam fits the mold of what Mike Leach looks for in a quarterback.   He is a leader on the field and can put up stats with the best of them.  Taylor Potts will likely become the next Red Raider quarterback but Karam will eventually get his turn.  Keeper league owners will want to take a hard look at Karam.  There is nothing more reliable in fantasy football than the Texas Tech quarterback position.
