A very interesting idea has been brought forth by a 1980's-enthusiast-YouTuber (via NewMoonMovie.org): what if Twilight had been made in the 1980's?
The question centers on who would be cast for the major characters if the movie were to be made in the 1980's (and, from the looks of the YouTuber's choices, relatively high budget)?
For Robert Pattinson's character Edward Cullen, the YouTuber pinned Brat Pack-er Rob Lowe, and, instead of Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, we'd see Elizabeth Shue. Ralph Macchio would be our Jacob Black, instead of today's Taylor Lautner, according to the video-poster.
The full list and video are available here.
Though most of the choices derive from The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, The Karate Kid, and The Outsiders, it is a fairly interesting discussion, don't you think?
If Twilight could have been made in any other generation, perhaps it would've been interesting to see how it would be cast in the 1980's. Filled with teen/twenty-something superstars, the decade was certainly one befitting for casting of this sort.
So, I ask you, who would you have chosen for the parts if this were a different decade? Comment below and let us know!
