This year's film competition for The Twilight Saga: New Moon has been fierce. Opening today (premiere photos below) was Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, the sixth film based upon the acclaimed novels by J.K. Rowling.
Of the stiff competition made available in this, the year of the sequels and re-makes, Harry Potter is undoubtedly the most taut.
With promise of a wild and dramatic journey for our favorite characters Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermoine (Emma Watson), Ron (Rupert Grint), Dumbledore (Michael Gambon), and our favorite badboys Severus Snape (Alan Rickman) and Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton), the film is surely one that will reign as fellow heavy-hitter of the year.
The film premiered today in London, U.K. in Leicester Square, and its main actors and actresses (with Rupert Grint all smiles despite his recovering state) and author Rowling were in attendance.
The film will be brought to U.S. screens on July 15th (as well as those of Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, and Sweden - with many other nations getting to see the film on July 16th).
Still to come (and expected to fare well in the box office) before New Moon are G.I. Joe: Rise Of The Cobra, Inglourious Basterds, 9, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, Where The Wild Things Are, Saw VI, A Christmas Carol, and 2012. Also coming are Summit Entertainment projects Bandslam and Astro Boy.
