Bella's dress in 'New Moon' is a complete original

Though we didn't get to see as much of it as we will in The Twilight Saga: New Moon's full feature film presentation, the dress worn by Bella Swan in the birthday scene (shown in the preview for the film) is already making news.

According to Entertainment Weekly,

New Moon costume designer Tish Monaghan custom-made Bella's one-of-a-kind dress: 'It was supposed to be a gift from Alice, so I wanted something pretty that Alice would buy, but also something vintage [looking] that would be appropriate for Bella. We dressed it down with sneakers to keep the Bella flavor.'

We all know the effect that Kristen Stewart's style can have upon us as fans (see here for instance), so this news may prove to be a huge let-down for those wishing to purchase a similar ensemble (though, we know crafty fans will likely just reproduce their own version).
