Director Tim Burton is nothing if not thorough and unique. Casting his unbelievably creative visual spin on classic favorites (as with his work in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, for example), Burton effectively shines his identifiable and yet intangible light on everything he touches.
Alice In Wonderland, no doubt, will be much the same. Starring Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter, and The Twilight Saga: New Moon's very own Michael Sheen, this film has certainly become the talk of the town.
Photographs of the feature film (and its main stars) surfaced earlier in the week proving one thing: Tim Burton's version of Alice In Wonderland will absolutely give the story a modern and beautiful new edge.
Comparing these photographs to screenshots from Disney's 58-year-old masterpiece, one can clearly see Burton's vision against the background of Disney's interpretation of author Lewis Carroll's story.
While the new film may be live-action, nothing seems threatened to be lost in this transformation, and fans of the former film, the book, and Tim Burton alike are thrilled that Burton has taken on this project so well.
Along with the Dormouse, the Cheshire Cat, Walrus and Carpenter, the Tugley Wood inhabitants, the Caterpillar, and the March Hare, the White Rabbit (portrayed by Michael Sheen) is one of the more stunning of Lewis Carroll's creations, and, one would think, difficult to create in live-action.
