It's still a long way away, but you may be interested in knowing where the Twilight saga films will be seen in the second decade of this millennium.

According to a recent report by The Hollywood Reporter, the Twilight series films, as well as three other Summit Entertainment films, have been funneled into an FX deal and will be shown on that network in the coming years.

Twilight will start showing on the network in 2011, with the next two (The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) following in consecutive annual accordance. Push, Knowing, and The Hurt Locker are all on queue for display in 2012 on the network as well.

Note that the deal does not supersede, but rather follows the completion of, Showtime's deal with the studio.

According to THR, there is more to the deal than what is done on paper at this time.

The license fee for the movies is based on their North American box office performance. If the third and fourth "Twilight" movies continue to go strong, each reaching the $200 million mark domestically, FX could end up paying close to $100 million for the quartet. (For a marquee film title, ad-supported networks usually shell out about 12% of the domestic tally and as much per as $24 million if the movie's receipts total crosses $200 million.)

The report also contains some interesting statistics about what this means for FX in the way of completed acquisitions. Interesting to know, really.
