Not sure which DVD to pull off the new release shelf? Need a new Blu-ray to show off in 1080p? Or maybe you're looking through the new releases on Netflix and don't know what to add to your queue?
This week you'll find some decent Halloween-ish films to watch over the next few weeks, but ultimately nothing as good as seeing Paranormal Activity in theaters or renting the classics like Halloween, Nightmare Elm Street or Friday the 13th:
Dead Snow - Rent-it - This Nazi slasher Zombie film received rave reviews at Sundance.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Rent-it - Like everyone said and heard: It was super racist, raunchy, long and cheesy. But giant robots fighting to the "death" Michael Bay-style is always totally rad.
Peanuts: 1970's Collection, Vol. 1 (including: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving) - Rent-it - If you have kids who have never seen Snoopy and the Peanuts, otherwise you can probably just catch it on network TV or pull it out of your VHS collection.
Cheri - Skip-it - This romantic novel adapted for film stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Kathy Bates and is surprisingly mostly just lacking in script.
Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead - Skip-it - Fortunately you can only make 3 wrong turns before you get back on track.
Love 'N Dancing - Skip-it - There have been some terrible "dancing" movies since Dirty Dancing and Footloose, but this tops the list of worsts.
Blood: The Last Vampire - Skip-it - This terribly acted amateur film will make you finally realize this Twilight-inspired vampire obsession has gone too far.
Movies re-released on Blu-ray format this week:
Night of the Creeps - Rent-it - A fantastic b-movie horror/comedy film about two college guys who try to fulfill their fraternity initiation by stealing a dead body.
Easy Rider - Rent-it - Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson star in this now-dated, ultimate raod-trip film about two hippies and their chopped hogs.
Waterworld - Skip-it - Notoriously bad, but entertaining at parts, Waterworld was known as a big bust (especially with stars like Costner and Hopper attached) before it even had a chance.
