Week of June 22: Gay travel on the cheap - coast to coast and around the globe
Here are this week's money saving finds for gay travelers:
- The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has a number of gay-friendly travel package available on its LGBT microsite, www.VisitLasVegas.com/gaytravel, such as the Krave Excitement package at Planet Hollywood that includes special room rates (as low as $76 per night), two complimentary admissions to Krave Nightclub and to the Planet Hollywood Spa by Mandara.
- Gay travelers can enjoy a luxury room at the award-winning Harrah's New Orleans hotel, special in-room amenity from Blue Frog Chocolates and dinner for two at Besh Steak, owned by world-renowned celebrity chef, John Besh, as part of the Blue Mondays package, one of many travel deals available from the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation. The Tourism Marketing Corporation also has a free Gay Travel Guide to New Orleans available.
Head to Portland, Oregon, and stay at least two nights at a participating Portland Perks hotel and receive free overnight parking and continental breakfast for two, a discount-packed Portland Perks coupon book and a $75 American Express gift card. Portland Perks, is a program of the Travel Portland tourism organization. Among the participating hotels are Kimpton's Hotel Monaco Portland and Hotel Vintage Plaza. Travel Portland also offers a copy of Out in Portland, its special publication for LGBT travelers.
