Of course, it wouldn't be a fair without carnival games of "skill and chance." In both locations, fairgoers will find nearly 40 types of games in both locations.
(Our favorite tale of carnival games comes following an earthquake that hit during one of the county fairs at a location in California that now escapes precise recollection. However, at the time, it was reported that despite a hearty temblor, the milk bottles for the softball toss were STILL STANDING.)

Most rides require three to six coupons. Certain rides and attractions involve direct payment of the vendor (sounds a bit like Washington or Sacramento). At any rate, there are ride coupon booths where one may purchase in the following denominations: Single ride coupon, .75; 14 coupons, $10 (.71 each); 30 coupons, $20 (.66 each); 77 coupons, $50 (.65 each).
Meantime, in these economically conscious times, here are a few tips from the keepers of the fareon how to make maximum use of your scarce entertainment dollar.
Online or by phone through Ticketmaster, you can buy admission-and-ride ticket packages that save up to 43 percent. Also, Wednesday and Thursday is Pay-One-Price Ride day.
