People and dogs flying through the air, Flying Leathernecks reliving how they did it "back in the day, horses and the San Diego Sockers making a comeback.
All that and (the proverbial) more . . . is in store at the newly renovated Chevrolet Del Mar Arena.
Hear tell that among the more crowd-pleasing displays is the Hip Hop Dance Battle on June 25. Practised folks numbering in groups of 3 to 20 compete. They're judged on "technical skills, showmanship, creativity, rhythm and costume."
All events set herein are free with paid admission. We've covered races and motorsports type events elsewhere. Here are a few other fun county fair-type events you might want to take in, a link to the complete list follows.
The south end of the Arena has displays of equipment, weaponry and aviation sponsored and hosted by local military, June 12-21.
Organizations on site include: The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum, the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Command Museum, the Camp Pendleton Command Museum, the Mechanized Museum and the Miramar Air Show.
