The headline of last nights 95-83 loss to the Golden State Warriors would be Warriors forward Anthony Randolph, tying a summer league record, by dropping 42 points (13-22 FG-A,) (16-21 FT-A,) but Bulls rookies, James Johnson and Taj Gibson were very impressive as well.
Johnson, displaying every part of his game, which included leading the break, getting rebounds (8,) finishing strong at the rim, making good passes in transition and displaying some great hesitation moves as he finished with 21 points.
Gibson, (14 points and 11 rebounds) did not get a majority of those 42 scored on him and was active every minute he was in the game, getting deflections, changing shots, running the floor in transition and displaying a nice touch around the rim.
I know it's only Summer League, but the skills of Johnson and Gibson will grant them a lot of playing time this season.
The Bulls next game is today at 5 p.m. against Brandon Jennings and the Milwaukee Bucks. You can sign up and watch the game HERE.
In other Bulls news, veteran guard Lindsey Hunter was re-signed, free agent Jannero Pargo signed a one year deal and Tim Thomas was bought out and placed on waivers.
According to a transcript from WMVP 1000-AM, the ESPN affiliate in Chicago, Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer, when asked was Chicago his favored destination, he stated;
“I mean I’d love to be a part of the Chicago Bulls,” he added. “A lot of that lays in the Utah Jazz hands, but we’ll see what they wanna do and hopefully I’ll do what’s best for me as well. If it happens I’ll be very happy.”
