After the first pick is called, then come the mysteries.

Later today, the lives of 60 individuals will change forever.

The lucky ones will have guaranteed money, securing a spot as a professional basketball player at the highest level.

The hard work, extra hours in the weight room, time spent working on their game when the lights aren't on and no one's watching have all gotten them to this point many dream and fight for but never attain.

For others, they won't have the guaranteed spots or dollars, but will once again continue to fight for their place in the NBA.

The first name called will be Blake Griffin, after that comes the uncertainty. In that uncertainty lies a lot of potential talent and question marks.

While everyone is quick to call this a weak draft, without even seeing any production at the next level from any of the players, I believe this draft has a great deal of players who will be stars or can come right in and contribute.

Everyone can't be all-stars, but that is no reason to write anyone off. These kids are at this stage now because they have earned the right to be here.

If I'm wrong about this draft in three years, I'll take all who comment out for ice cream.

Follow me on www.twitter.com/C4DUNK during the coverage of the NBA draft later today on ESPN from 7PM to 12AM ET, as I'll be giving my thoughts and analysis on deals, picks and other draft day related topics. I'll also be answering and responding to your tweets.
