The mantra before heading into this season was DEFENSE.
With the commitment to that side of the ball, there will be some close games and ugly wins, but the only thing that counts is who leaves with the W.
The Bulls (3-2) task on Thursday night was to try and slow down LeBron James, who if you've been following, has never had any trouble having his way against the Bulls.
Things would be different this night, as the Bulls halted the Cavs (3-3) three game winning streak, and denied James on a last second drive to the basket to win 86-85.
James finished the game with 25 points, 6 assists and 7 rebounds.
There was good news before the game as Tyrus Thomas flew commercial after being cleared by doctors to return to play after missing two straight games with the flu. He played 12 minutes and scored 6 points.
Luol Deng led the Bulls with 15 points, John Salmons had 14 and Derrick Rose had 14 points and 11 assists.
GAME NOTES
Apologies to readers for not being able to answer their questions from Tuesday nights game. I was having difficulties with my computer, but I can assure you Brandon Jennings will be a star in this league, Scott Skiles is letting the kid play through his mistakes, but isn't allowing him to get too flashy. Jennings reminds me of Allen Iverson, when The Answer first came into the league in 96.
Game of the Night will be the Cavaliers at the New York Knicks. It's the Cavs only trip to Madison Square Garden this season, unless something drastic happens and the Knicks make the postseason, but expect the media coverage to be at an all-time high, since it's no surprise James is atop the Knicks 2010 free agent wishlist at 1, 2 and 3. James might even celebrate by wearing some Blue/Orange Air Max LeBron's and proceed to go for 70.
