According to a report by NBA.com, Los Angeles Clipper Blake Griffin is cleared to begin fully practicing with the team again, as of Monday. (http://www.nba.com/clippers/news/breakingnews090914.html)
Los Angeles Clippers’ rookie forward Blake Griffin, who suffered a strained right shoulder during the Las Vegas Summer League, has been cleared to participate with no limitations in all team activities by Clippers’ team physician Dr. Steven Shimoyama.
Griffin, who originally strained the shoulder during the third game of the Clippers’ five game stint in Las Vegas, was named the League’s Most Outstanding Player and went on to average 19.2 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.
Griffin’s 504 rebounds last season was the highest season rebound total in college basketball since Larry Bird grabbed 505 boards in 1978-79.
Griffin only encountered minor injury issues while starring at Oklahoma for two years, and the Clippers brass and faithful ought to be rightly hopeful he will return to team activities with vigor while avoiding any further maladies before the regular season kicks off in November. However, while a healthy amount of effort should be required for Griffin to get back up to team speed, a little discretion in how often he's out there for things like shooting drills may be useful in helping his shoulder recover. Despite Griffin's noted troubles at the line during his time at Oklahoma, he will have plenty of time to improve his free-throw percentages once the games that count start.
