Guy Pearce checks the hurt lock on the hurt locker . Yep - still hurtin'.

So here's that Summer movie that almost nobody knows anything about, the critics are creaming their pressed tan Dockers over - and now thanks to Hulu, (everybody thank Hulu - thank you Hulu...) we can finally see what all the hot press for this movie is about. Or at least 8 minutes worth.

I am extremely excited to finally see Kathryn Bigelow's Hurt Locker this weekend when it's finally released here in Seattle. So excited in fact that I'll be the guy in line dressed up as a high school locker covered in Band-aids. You might know Kathryn's previous work as the Director of Near Dark, Point Break, (long live Johnny Utah...) and my personal favorite - Strange Days. This time she's taking on the situation in Iraq - but not in the current "pussed-up" Hollywood slant of the conflict. The Hurt Locker's an official heavyweight war movie. Check out these opening 8 minutes to whet that appetite for destruction. (must have a Hulu account to watch - sign-up is free however)

Here's the poster for the film - covered in gushes of yucky critical acclaim of course:
