Woody Harrelson all packed and ready for his vacation in Zombieland.

It's been a bittersweet symphony this week for Undead Heads world wide. It was announced yesterday that Marc Forster's World War Z film project would have to be put on hold for a while. (check out that story here - but only if you're fluent in German - if not you can check out the story at Dark Horizons) Which makes total sense - give the New Testament of zombie literature to a Golden Globe nominated filmmaker, and he'll need to find that deeper meaning in the work before moving forward. Is there any way that we could land this book adaptation inside the court and courtesy of a filmmaker who cares about the novel?

So lets get to the "sweet" half of this symphony. The really sweet stuff comes from this new flick Zombieland - a new apocalyptic zombie comedy that's looking absolutely tasty. Check out this gooey trailer boys and girls:

Trailer Critique: Where has this movie been my whole life? Oh I know where:  Dawn of the Dead, Shaun of the Dead, Natural Born Killers, Return of the Living Dead. Yes Zombieland isn't bringing anything new to the big screen, but zombie movies rarely do. And this one looks like an 18-wheeler loaded past legal transport capacity with mayhem, senseless violence, and five tons of fun. Exactly what a movie with the title Zombieland should look like - a zombified royal rumpus

In fact the one thing I kept thinking as the two minute trailer ran was why hasn't Woody Harrelson been in a zombie movie before this one? He was born, (some might say "naturally born") to play this role. The world may not have asked for the ultimate zombie killing machine but it looks like we'll be getting him anyway. And how freakin' cool is it to see Little Miss Sunshine in a zombie splatterfest? Exactly freakin' cool if you ask me.

Plus the weaponry - the "toolshed" of "bloodshed" if you will - displayed in this short preview is incredible. Gardening shears, shotguns, piano drops, carnival rides, car doors, guns of every make and model, Van Halen - if this flick even lives up to a small ounce of the blood-soaked promises it makes in this film trailer.... We could have something seriously special on our hands this October.

What do you guys think - zombie kill of the week?
