King Kong ain't got nothin'.... In his pocket.

What the world needs right now is another movie showing us the end of its existence. The apocalypse has always been better on film than in, let's say... Rawanda? Cambodia? Burma?

Enter the new Hughes Brothers flick. (it's about time guys - thought that maybe From Hell turned into actual eternal damnation) The Book of Eli.

USA Today published some new photos from the new movie - set for release in early 2010. Here's a look at the synopsis, as well as a few photos of the new Denzel Washington flick. Think of it as Mad Max - but with Ipods and Alonzo Harris.

It should be noted that the economic downturn is having some effect on the release of more end-o'-times entertainment. We're seeing Terminator Salvation as well as The Road released this year. With Book of Eli, and possible sequels to Mad Max as well as  I Am Legend waiting in the dark, not-so-distant, catastrophic future... All this Armageddon needs is a follow-up to Waterworld and the horseman can take off from the mighty celestial gate holding back their terrible final ride...

If you're really interested in how the entire machine is going to collapse in on itself definitely check out my favorite crazy-ass Examiner, Mark Reinoso. AKA: Phoenix State of the World Examiner. Mark can't wait for the "nigh" to switch over to "now" concerning "The end is..."  Plus he's an apocalyptic movie buff like no other. Check this brother out.
