A Clash of the Titans remake you say? Yessir. And it couldn't come at a better time too. Grandma Hollywood's almost out of time-honored films to remake. Pretty soon the old gal's going to start remaking classic remakes - then we'll really been in for something special...
Hollywood leftovers are a dish best served microwaved and drowned in dressing. Just like this new trailer for Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans overhaul. Enjoy!!
Trailer Critique: Wow man, I haven't heard that much chuggy guitar since the last time I tried playing one. I could lie, could feign some sort of critical importance, could thumb my nose at the bastards intent on strip-mining the films of my silly youth - but I won't. This kind of looks really cool doesn't it?
I mean the soundtrack's going to appeal to 30 year old metal-heads wherever they may pump a fist. (will the actual soundtrack be as face-melting...?) And it looks like the God of War video game degenerates are going to be getting theirs as well. But this looks like a really great adaptation of Clash of the Titans. Blame it on Sam Worthington. Blame it on souped-up effects computers. Blame it on Louis Leterrier, whose Unleashed was this Frenchman's first real directorial footprint on American cinema...
In fact I'm going to blame it on the ol' Frog. Because I know the man can handle his fight scenes when it comes to arranging and shooting them for film. What may look like random acts of Summer movie violence in this trailer - Stephen Sommers built a career on trailers just like this - might actually turn out to be pretty spectacular once the final product is unleashed... (see what I did there?)
We can bitch about remaking and rehashing all we want to - try getting your kids to sit still through the original Clash. It's not so easy is it? Can't wait to see this.
