New Kick-Ass pics! (yes, that is the name of a new comic book flick...)

No skills? Grab a couple lead pipes. That's how you Kick-Ass.

What is Kick-Ass? Excellent question. Kick-Ass could very well be next year's Hot Fuzz. It's a Brit-produced Hero/Action/Comedy, (or a Heractomedy for the hip film set) based on the Marvel Comics Icon series Kick-Ass. The synopsis: "Kick-Ass centers on a high school dweeb named Dave Lizewski who decides to become a superhero even though he has no athletic ability or coordination. Things change when he eventually runs into real bad guys with real weapons."

Plus I've heard another popular British term thrown in to describe Kick-Ass... Ultra-violence.

Kick-Ass is being directed by Matthew Vaughn, the guy who gave us Star Dust and Layer Cake... Which with that film title catalog I guess you would make a follow-up film called Kick-Ass just to add a solid shot of testosterone to a collection of film titles that might have inadvertently been carrying a bit too much estrogen. Whatever the case Vaughn's a talented Director. I'm sure Kick-Ass will appease fans of  Edgar Wright films (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) and put a nice comedic twist on a genre that is white hot right now...

Here's Dave Lizewski's (Aaron Johnson - The illusionist) internet-ordered kick-ass super-hero suit. Looks very... Ummm, very... Looks extremely ummmm... Threatening? Menacing? Intimidating? Sure it does.
