If you're looking for the real photo of the new USS Enterprise look below...

This photo is NOT the new USS Abrams... I mean new USS Enterprise. This is just the bait photo to get you to hit this column. Not in the Ike Turner sense of the term hit this. And not in the Justin Timberlake sense of the term hit this either. But in the Bill Gates sense - hitting by mouse click selection, and in turn putting 1/3,000,000th of a penny into my Paypal account. If you are reading this right now it's already too late. That money is now mine - and already spent. Kaaaaaa-ching!

All that B.S. aside I promise that I'll try to keep the Star Trek information to a nice warm buzz around here, and not get roaring drunk on it like I want to. I did cover the new Star Trek posters yesterday, but I'm most definitely not about to transform my gig as Movie Examiner into Star Trek Examiner - though that title is a stunner. The photo above is an early prototype of the USS Enterprise created by Star Trek superfan and star of the two available Trekkies films, Gabriel Koerner. This, fellow fans, is the REAL new USS Enterprise:

My first thoughts? Why am I thinking of a 50 year old dude on the beach sucking in his gut to present the illusion of fitness? Maybe it's just because we're a stone's throw away from Thanksgiving, but those nacelles, (nacelles for the Trek unversed are the two long "tailpipes" protruding out the back of the ship) remind me of Galaxy-class-sized turkey legs. I hope the Romulans remember to bring extra gravy...

I'm sure the ship will grow on me - they all do. Even the ultra-ugly Enterprise D from The Next Generation grew on me over time. This one looks almost too hot-rod for Star Trek. The Enterprise is being captained by Christopher Pike, (one beep if you know who he is) and not Han Solo after all.... I guess until I see Star Trek XI I won't know how well this ship works or not. I will however admit that it does have that classic feel to it. Though I might have to concede, for now at least, that I like Gabe's faked-up Enterprise much more...

I'm going to post a link to Screenrant, (Vic Holtreman who commented below) and his take on the new ship design. He also has a really great Photoshop fix of the design in his column. Believe me it does look alot better with a bit more weight in the middle - I.E. starship love-handles. And it helps sell those turkey drumstick nacelles as well.
