  Tracy and Maura

Last week, one of Rescue Me's biggest fans was lucky enough to have a couple of close encounters while the show was filming this season's final episode in TriBeCa.

Tracy, who had driven two hours into the city from Pennsylvania to try and see her favorite actors filming her favorite show, got an unexpected surprise: ER star Maura Tierney was on location filming a guest spot on the FX firefighter drama.  Tracy ran into Ms. Tierney near her trailer, and reports that she was "nice as could be, even asking my name, shaking my hand, & saying it was nice to meet me."

Unfortunately, all of the scenes being shot were interiors, so Tracy did not get to see any filming (she was luckier last summer in Brooklyn when she got up close and personal with the whole cast).  But she did spot Denis Leary on a break (she did not approach him, however - rumor has it he's not a warm, cuddly, approachable guy while on the set).

Rescue Me, which films on location all over NYC, has been renewed for a sixth season.
