With the first episode of season six, it seems that the gang is back on track after a less-than-successful last year. We find that E has been dating a handful of different girls, Drama’s acting career is going steady, Turtle is still dating Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and Vince is once again a successful movie star thanks to his role in Martin Scorsese’s, Gatby. We also find out that Vince is preparing for an upcoming film based on race car driver, Enzo Ferrari.
All seems to be good at the Miller Gold Agency, as Ari’s friend and new partner Andrew Klein is fitting in well. However, Lloyd is troubled by the fact that he has been working under Ari for years without the offer of a promotion. After much argument, Ari offers Lloyd a proposition. If Lloyd survives 100 days of doing everything Ari says, then he will get his promotion. Ari’s first demand is for Lloyd to lose 15 pounds.
Sloan calls E and tells him that she has a friend who wants to sublet her house. E is hesitant about whether he wants to live by himself or not. Upon meeting with Sloan and surveying the house, E tells her that he will think about it. Meanwhile, Vince is practicing his parallel parking to get his driver’s license and he dings E’s Aston Martin, to which he humorously replies, “I’ll buy you a new one.” Despite an awful showing during his driving test, Vince gets his license by offering the instructor premier tickets to Gatsby.
Later in the day, Vince makes an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Afterwards, Vince and E meet up with Sloan and her friend to discuss the arrangements of E moving into the house. Vince ends up having a good time with Sloane’s friend, despite her initial reservations about a one night stand with a movie star.
At the end of the night, E drives Sloane home and smooth-talks his way into Sloane’s house for a late night drink, Drama has a night shoot for Five Towns, Turtle is busy with Jamie-Lynn (with some hot tub action), and Vince comes back to his house where he finds himself alone, something rare and unusual for him. All in all, a good starting point for the first episode of a new season.
