Of all the things that America has to offer the India sub-continent, this is one that definitely would not have come to mind.

There are some 1.2 billion people in India. Read more must know facts about India + Map.

And at least somewhere near half of those 1.2 billion people are female, right? Not that cheerleaders are limited to the fairer sex.

So, why does India need to import cheerleaders from overseas? And, for goodness sakes, what are the cheerleaders going to say in their cheers?

"Rah, rah, wicket. We are in the thicket!"

"Over! Over! Bowl 'em over!"

And, isn't cricket entertainment? The IPL teams are owned by Bollywood stars. Do we need entertainers to call attention to the entertaiment?

For what its worth, the Delhi Daredevils have refused to use cheerleaders to spice up its sidelines, because of the 'skimpy outfits.' And, the Daredevils are favored to win IPL2. Here's the 2009 IPL schedule.

In I Kings 1, we read of Solomon taking the throne. The whole city cheered with a resounding noise. I may be wrong but I don't think they did it with pom poms. Palm palm branches maybe. But, not in mini skirts and halter tops.

And, when Jesus told His apostles to "be of good cheer..." in John 16:33, he definitely did not have these girls in mind.
