Bangles

Bangles are one of the "five Ks" of Sikh families. The St. Peter CE School in Chorley, Lancashire has a prospectus that "makes it clear that school will allow jewellery where it is a necessary part of the religious faith of the child, i.e. Sikh families must wear bangles as one of the 'five Ks', the religious rules for dress."

However, an eight-year old was told to take OFF her necklace with a cross that she had been wearing underneath her top. Um, how did they know it was there?

The school says it is a health and safety hazard.

The family is crying 'double standard!' as indeed they should.

The last I checked, St. Peter had connections with Christ himself. And neither of them wore bangles.

Now here is a 'Christian' school that allows children of other faiths to keep their traditions (and rightfully so) but won't allow a child to keep a 'Christian' tradition.

Huh?!

And we thought only in America was there such double standards against Christians. Wrong!
