Rembrandt's Prodigal Son

Bill Fulton lost his wallet some 63 years ago.

His Social Security card and bicycle license from his teenage years, were in their respective compartments, seemingly untouched since the year after World War II ended. More details here.

It cannot be supposed that the contents were not important to Fulton but the truth of the matter is the wallet remained lost.

It doesn't happen that way with treasures in three of Jesus' parables. Luke 15:1-10

The shepherd leaves behind all of his sheep to hunt down the one that was lost.

The woman cleans and searches till she finds her lost coin.

Both of these parables are followed by a third and very famous one - The parable of the prodigal son.

It ends with the words - "...he was lost and is found."

We can be sure that we are a treasure to the Creator and He is on the hunt for us so that we all might be saved, even if He were to find us under the bleachers after 63 years.
