One of the things I think God does/did really well is/was create such a rich variety of living species - animals and vegetables alike.

Seriously. Is there anyone that comes close to matching how imaginative the Creator of the universe is? I think not.

April 24th is Arbor Day - Participants all over the country will be planting trees, according to their state or otherwise.

If you don't want to plant a tree, how about:

1. checking out the trees on your own property

2. making plans for future trees

3. inspecting your trees for broken branches, disease, insects

4. improving the look of your property by planting more trees. (we planted a plum blossom tree)

5. thinking how a tree or trees can provide wind or heat protection for your home

6. visiting the local nursery and adopting a tree

7. talking to neighbors about how the community might be improved

I came across this list of all the state trees. I live in California and my neighbor has a HUGE redwood in his back yard that hangs over into my yard. Way cool!
