When the public learned the truth about the Denny/Sealth BEX III project, that Denny Middle School would be torn down and rebuilt on the Chief Sealth High School campus, many were deeply concerned about the project. There can be no doubt that the District failed to conduct adequate public outreach and information and no doubt that the district staff rejected the public input they received on the plan and misrepresented the public response it to the Board. As the decisive moment neared for the Denny/Sealth design and the Board would have to vote to approve or disapprove the plan, the public opposition peaked.

In response, the District conducted a highly constrained public meeting at which they made a presentation and then took questions. They did not, however, answer any questions that night. Instead, they printed the questions and the answers on their web site. They didn't have immediate answers for some of the questions, so the online document claims:

Please note that some of the answers are repeated in various sections and other answers are still in progress and will be filled in when available.

For those difficult questions the listed response is:

Response in progress as of 2/08/08

That was in February. It is now August. It has been six months and these answers remain "in progress". Are they? Are they really "in progress"? Or is the truth that there is no progress being made on answering these questions and no intention to ever answer them?
