Just announced and fresh off the press, Rock super-group U2 will be coming to the Valley this fall in it's brand new 360° Tour presented by Blackberry.
Bono recently told Rolling Stone during their interview that the tour will be unique in it's setup. "It's an engineering feat that creates this real proximity to the crowd." Check out the web-page over at U2 360° for the interactive website showcasing the unique setup.
This tour will also be particularly special for it's U.S. fan base as the group has not had an official stadium tour since PopMart in 1997. The 360° Tour will start off in Barcelona June 30, 2009 before continuing on to 14 European cities in Spain, Italy, France, Denmark, The Netherlands, Ireland, Sweden, Poland, Hungary, and Great Britain. The European segment of the 2009 tour will last through August. The tour then makes landfall here in North America as they will start off in Chicago on September 12, 2009, then make their way throughout September and October to Toronto, Boston, New York, Atlanta, Charlottesville, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Tampa, Washington DC, Vancouver and our very own Phoenix.
The official date and venue has not been announced for the The U2 360° Tour's stop in the valley but it has indeed been confirmed on the tour announcement site. The tour will focus on the music released on the No Line on the Horizon album but will also include hits spanning their amazing career since 1976.
Keep up to date on the status of the Valley's future mid-fall date with the Irish rock group and tour status here.
