Welcome back to medieval times, Arizona.
In case you haven't happen to pass by Apache Junction these last couple weekends, you might have miss the renaissance going on in the area. Not just any renaissance, but the Annual Arizona Renaissance Festival & Artisan Marketplace. Since the weekend of February 7th, medieval times have been back in style right here in Arizona. Everything from royal feats, jousting tournaments, duels to the death, crossbow shooting and even pony rides!
But you better act fast, unless you can catch it this weekend, next weekend, March 28th & 29th, is the last to catch the festival. from 10 am - 6pm, the Renaissance is relived. Take a ride on the world's largest rocking chair or choose from several other medieval times inspired rides.. Catch jugglers, swordsmen duels, jousts, or comedy acts on 1 of the 12 stages. The circus is a must see, as is the arts & crafts fair. You can also choose from many food vendors or take part of a royal feast. Check out the schedule of events every day at the fair. The royal feast does have a bit more of a price tag though.
Tickets at Fry's or on-line are $18 for adults, $8 for kids 5-12. Or spend a little more at the gate and pay $20 for adults, $10 for kids and $17 for seniors. Under 5 is free either way. If you wish to take part in The Pleasure Feast, it comes at a price tag of $79.95 each which includes on adult admission to the fair, a six course feast, 2 hours of royal entertainment, and a souvenir goblet and medallion.
