Want to go to the theater but lacking cash? There's two good deals today at the Seattle Center. Both the Rep and Intiman are offering "pay-what-you-can" performances or PWYC tickets.
The Wednesday (10/7) matinee of The 39 Steps at the Seattle Rep starts at 2:00 p.m. and you can score a ticket for as little as $1.  Cash only is accepted for these tickets and you must buy them at the Rep's box office (no ordering over the web or by phone). This deal was just announced yesterday via the Rep's Twitter: one very good reason to follow your favorite theater's tweets!
Over at Intiman, the 7:30 p.m. performance of Abe Lincoln in Illinois is also pay-what-you-can with a $5/ticket minimum for cash sales and $10/ticket for credit card sales. For the first time, the theater is allowing people to purchase PWYC tickets over the phone:  206.269.1900.
With deals like these, and the two theaters being next door to each other at the Seattle Center, you could spend your entire Wednesday watching theater for under $10!

For more info:
Seattle Repertory Theatre is located at 155 Mercer Street. Intiman can be found next door at 201 Mercer St.
