The off season is a favorite time of year for many Worcester County residents, myself included. Not only are the traffic and crowds significantly diminished (the West OC outlets are a great place to have a serene, non-frenzied pre-Christmas shopping experience), but some of Ocean City's best restaurants roll out specials to entice customers during the cold months. Here are some of the best offerings:

• One of the most-anticipated specials- Fager's Island on 60th Street: Half-priced prime rib every Monday and Tuesday night
• The Greene Turtle on 116th Street: $4.95 lunch specials, Monday through Friday
• Solstice at the Atlantic Hotel in Berlin: Half-priced food for ladies on Wednesdays
• BJ's on the Water on 75th Street: 3-course winter prix fixe menu for $20.99
• The Shark on Sunset Avenue in West OC: $5 daily lunch specials
• La Hacienda on 80th Street: $1.25 tacos on Thursday nights; $5 burritos on Sundays
• Coins Pub & Restaurant on 28th Street: Half-priced entrees every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday nights
• Tequila Mockingbird on 130th Street: $1.25 tacos on Monday nights
• Ruth's Chris Steakhouse at Glen Riddle in Berlin: Soecial 3-course prix fixe menu Sunday through Thursday
• Seacrets at 49th Street: Half-priced entrees on Sundays

Keep in mind that these specials will not be honored on any holidays that happen to fall on a weekday. And remember to tip your server on the amount before the discount - it will be appreciated!
