Salisbury has a fantastic new addition - Viva Espresso has opened at 105a. East College Ave. by Salisbury University.
The ambiance is very soothing and welcoming - this is a great, comfy spot to sip a coffee beverage or sample one of their paninis or salads. They have these neat armchairs with swivel desk tops where you can place your beverage or tray.
I took my daughter there yesterday for a quick lunch. The paninis all sounded amazing, and I finally settled on the portabello mushroom and mozzarella. I was very pleased with my choice - the bread was pleasantly chewy and the fillings very flavorful. I also enjoyed the bean salad that accompanied the large sandwich; I never knew I liked chickpeas. My daughter selected a grilled cheese sandwich - and it was huge. What a value! She only ate half - the rest is packed in her lunch today. Her sandwich came with a little side of yogurt - healthy and sweet.
Next time, I am looking forward to trying the ricotta and roasted red pepper panini; or maybe the California chicken with bacon and avocado; or maybe the quiche of the day. I don't think I can go wrong.
Viva Espresso is a welcome addition to the Salisbury cafe scene. I imagine that it will blow up once people know they have opened.
