Hennessey performance has gotten their hands on a 2010 Camaro SS and performed a quarter mile test. This stock test is the baseline that they plan to use when modifying the Camaro SS. Over all, a 13.608 time @ 107.9 mph is pretty good for a stock vehicle. With a 0-60 time of only 4.6 seconds stock, the future of performance modifications are very bright for the Camaro SS. With such a quick time stock, imagine what it can do with a little tweaking. A cam with basic bolt-on modifications will create a monster of power. The world is waiting to see what Hennessey performance school can do with the new Camaro SS.
The stock quarter mile time is comparable to the 1998 Camaro Z28 SS which has a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds, alomst a full second slow than the 2010 Camaro SS. Handling has been increased and should be able to establish decent grip even after extensive performance modifications. The vehicle appears much heavier in the rear end when compared to the 1998 version.

Looking forward to future modifications to unleash the potential beast held within. The 2010 Camaro SS features a 6.2 liter LS3 V8 engine. This engine is considered a generation 4 ls engine and can be extensively researched here. The performance future for this car is bright, it's sort of like a miniature Corvette ZR1. The 6.2 liter engine is much bigger than the previous LS1 engine used in the 1998 Camaro Z28 SS version. Reading below about how the LS3 engine is different than previous versions you will see how much performance potential exists in this new Camaro SS.
What is different about the LS3 engine?

When compared to other quarter mile times, the Camaro SS is competing directly with the following vehicles that run the same quarter mile time:
13.6 QM times (Year, Make, Model, 0-60 time)
