The Nurburgring police vehicle of choice is a heavily modified Porsche. Stripped out chassis with only race needed items such as roll cage and seats is a great way to tour the Nurburgring with police authority. Why is there police on the Nurburgring? Certain areas of the track actually have speed limits to keep the noise levels down requiring police to patrol and ensure drivers abide by the rules. Additionally, police use helicopters to help keep an eye on unruly drivers that practice unsafe tactics. The Nurburgring is a living organism and must be patrolled otherwise fatal chaos will consume it's existence.

Keeping the track safe and free of idiots is a very hard challenge. Each day, the Nurburgring services anywhere from 10 to over 100 cars using the track / toll road for either commute or pleasure. Contrary to belief, the Nurburgring is actually a public use toll road. During normal road use sessions named "touristenfarhten". Passing on the right is strictly prohibited, along with speed limits in quite zones; these laws are strictly enforced during public use sesions.
The need to enforce law on the track is a tough job, but someone has to do it! How do you enforce law upon some of the fastest vehicles in the world? By using a highly modified Porsche and a trained driver, the Police have the upper hand. No one knows the track better than those that have daily routines patrolling it's curves, swoops, hills, and thrills! Now we have the chance to ride along with the Nurburgring police, awesome!
