CNN has broadcast a breaking news announcement that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has resigned her post as governor of
the state. Rick Sanchez announced at 3 PM ET that CNN has confirmed that Palin will step down as governor of Alaska within the month.
The Palin announcement is bound to set off media speculation about her motivation, At this point, however, the reasons for Palin's resignation are merely conjecture.
Sarah Palin came to national attention when she was chosen as the Republican Vice Presidential candidate, running with John McCain in his run for President against Democrat Barack Obama.
