The funeral service for actress Farrah Fawcett as held in Los Angeles on June 30, 2009. Fawcett passed away on June 25, 2009, after a three year battle with anal cancer.
The funeral service for Farrah Fawcett, 62, was had at Los Angeles Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. The
service was private, for her family and friends.
Ryan O'Neal, the long time love and companion of the actress was one of the pall bearers and gave a reading at the service. Redmond O'Neal, 24, the son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal reportedly also gave a bible reading. Redmond has been in jail for drug use, but was let out briefly so he could attend the memorial service for his mother.
The funeral was also attended by Alana Stewart, Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd, Cheryl Tiegs, Jaclyn Smith, Dick Van Patton, ex-husband Lee Majors, Jackie Collins, Joan Collins, Gary Shandling and Farrah's father, James Fawcett.
Ryan O'Neal led the pallbearers as they carried the casket covered with sunny golden yellow flowers, perfect as a remembrance of the beautiful woman with golden hair and a sunny smile..
Farrah Fawcett is famous as one of the original Charlie's Angels, as the pinup girl in the most popular poster ever and for her wavy golden hair that was imitated by girls across the land.
Farrah had her friend Alana Stewart film her cancer treatments, making a type of video that she shared with the world. The documentary about her cancer treatments, Farrah's Story, has aired on television.
Ryan O'Neal had told Barbara Walters in an interview just last week that Farrah had finally agreed to marry him, but she passed away before a wedding could take place.
