 The Dark Knight, the movie based on the comic book hero, Batman;  is currently airing on HBO.  Christian Bale stars as the mysterious, crime-fighting superhero Batman in the latest big screen incarnation of the popular comic book series, directed by Christopher Nolan. Gotham City is threatened by psychotic criminal the Joker (Heath Ledger).    The Dark Knight features performances by Christian Bale,  Michael Caine, Oscar and Golden Globe winner Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Morgan Freeman.
